The ATV experience began with following the truck and trailer carrying the 4wheelers and staff along an easy drive to the trails. Upon arrival we were fitted for helmets for safety. The first compliment I can give to this company is how well-treated the horses obviously are. The caretakers were constantly checking equipment, shoes, etc. to make sure the horses are as comfortable as the customers. Dyan also gives a very thorough lesson beforehand teaching us how to ride the horses, even giving specific details for each horse. I chose Appalachians by Horseback for my family on our recent trip to Boone precisely because of the awesome reviews, and this experience truly lived up to its reputation. Dyan, the owner, was very helpful and truly loves the horses. The young ladies who assist her were very personable and helpful.

I chose this as a surprise... I'm sure actually doing this event is wonderful but we were really disappointed with this company. We booked a ride about 2-3 months before we planned a trip to Boone and had planned all the activities we were going to do that weekend around this horseback riding trip. We were so excited to go. I was a little nervous... Wow, what a great experience.I have ridden with a number of stables before but this is head and shoulders above any. Everything was extremely professional. The horses are so well cared for and groomed. Dyann and her assistants were fabulous. Not only did we enjoy a great ride, but learned the proper way to ride and manage horses.
