By taking your vehicle to an ICBC c.a.r. shop VALET facility, your repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle. If you prefer, you may take your vehicle to a repair shop that's not ICBC-accredited. However, you should check with the shop about its guarantee (if it offers one). Depending on your claim, when you pick up your vehicle, you may have to pay the shop: deductible-the amount you have to pay for repairs or costs before your insurance kicks in to pay for the resta portion of the cost of depreciation-when previously damaged or worn parts are repaired or replaced, or previously damaged or worn bodywork is paintedGST (applies to "GST registrants" only) If your repair shop doesn't accept ICBC estimates, you will have to pay the full cost of repairs and apply to ICBC to be reimbursed. Two-year time limit for repairs It's best to get your repairs done as soon as possible. Generally, you'll have two years from the date of your crash and/or loss to complete them. The two-year limit could vary, depending on your claim. Speak to your adjuster about your specific situation.
