I am very impressed with Scorpion products. I have used them for several years. I went down on the highway a few years ago at highway speeds while wearing a Scorpion jacket and pants. The gear provided excellent protection from road rash. Ultimately the slide wore a hole in my knee area and armor. I ended up with a minor strawberry about the size of a nickel on my knee. The gear was abraded from ankle to shoulder and and was totalled but it functioned perfectly. I hate to think what my skin would have been like without quality gear. I did break some bones but riding gear can't protect from everything. The jacket does feel heavy because of the heavy construction and extensive armor. I have not ridden in the rain so I am unable to rate the weatherproofing. Patches on waterproof gear are seam sealed from inside for optimal performance. With all patches, we try to match the color as closely as possible, but we cannot always guarantee a perfect color match, especially on patterned fabrics. We strive for a factory finished look on all repairs, but some patches will be visible due to the nature of the damage. On request, we can create patches to incorporate the repair as design feature. and we can try to come up with a solution to meet your needs. Zipper repairs are by far the most common repair that we see at Rainy Pass Repair. In many cases, we can repair zippers by simply replacing the zipper slider, which is the metal moving part of the zipper. We stock many styles and colors of zipper, including waterproof zippers. We can replace just about any zipper on your garment- the main zipper, pocket zippers, pit zippers and fly zippers. We can also add a new zipper to create a vent or pocket. This Mammut ski jacket needed a new main zipper, so we replaced it with a waterproof zipper that was similar to the original.
