The former owner did a quick top end job, it ran a week or so, and then BAM! blown back up again....you can see all the piston debris in the bottom end cases still left over from the first piston failure, the crankshaft bearings on the clutch side are now junk and you can see where the labyrinth seal had began to fail....Yay, full crank up rebuild!, this thing will run like brand new, and oh yeah it is for my Mom this year, I picked it up real cheap...! He was employed as the only technician working for a poverty-wage at an independent dealership that worked on just about everything from clapped out old ATV's and snowmobiles to neglected / abused Harley Davidson's. Having little to no chance for advancement there he moved on to a Honda dealer soon after. I soon became aware of the talent posse...ssed by this young man. He was always willing to come into my shop after work and diagnose problems with Japanese motorcycles and was capable of doing it far faster than I could. He worked quickly, efficiently and was a pleasure to talk to. One of those 'Born Technicians' that you occasionally hear about. But he was all Honda and not interested in BMW motorcycles other than having that bit of BMW curiosity often held by riders of other motorcycle brands. By 2003 I was busy with BMW work and turning away most Japanese brand work so I didn't see him as often. In 2012 I learned that he was in a horrific motorcycle crash that took him out of action for months.

In October 2013 I found out that he had decided to be his own boss. Finally, I would be able to help him out! Having not seen each other in a decade we met up and I offered to assist in setting up his new shop when the time came.
